WIP Wednesday – My new craft adventure

I'm trying all these new things. Some work and most fail. But that won't stop me from trying something else.I am finding who i am...

So you know i lost interest in the selling side of crochet, which i fully blame why i just don’t love crocheting anymore. I am struggling to push through and still haven’t finished that baby order but a lot of that is also personal. Anyways, once that’s done i am only going to concentrate on making baby booties – I love them, they are small cute.

You are thinking oh look at this silly cow, changing her mind again. Yeah, guess what i don’t actually care. My whole life i start and try new things, some i stick with and some i don’t. – Crocheting though i will stick with i just need to find that love again.

But i have really been enjoying learning hand lettering and modern calligraphy. Something about it has been really relaxing me, but i have wasted so much paper in doing so which i don’t think is fair on the planet – Sorry.
You know me i like to add quotes in my post sometimes, and i have always been this quote freak. I have a ton saved on my phone and lots that i have used to practise my hand lettering.

So i asked God and oddly i found my deck of angel cards. Archangel Gabrielle was pulled and he asked me to tell him my desires, dreams, what i want. I also asked for help in return by showing or guiding me on what path i should be on. I told him what i want in a personal letter – And then wrote to God talking about the same thing. God probably saw already ’cause i just assume his eyes look at everything LOL.

I woke up today and i was going to scan some of my quotes i had hand drew to just see how the quality would scan – And i saw all of my flaws in my work. Which meant that i needed to keep at it and perfect it. Don’t run too soon right?
So then i was like, – DIGITAL.

I have spend all day creating a few digital prints available to buy on my Etsy store. You might of seen these before but that’s kind of unavoidable.

The first one is one i think all you crafters will like! – The best thing is you can print them from home using some quality paper – Or send them to a printer service. Personally, my printer sucks so id get online and upload! PLUS super lazy.

All of my prints so far are 8×10 inches and i will be sticking with this size for a while as it’s the most common but i am looking into designing some smaller ones.

Crochet hooded cardigan | With pattern link

Image result for monday quotes

Happy Monday folks, just a lil crochet post today. I bought this hooded pattern a while back, and i did make a cardigan ages ago but seeing as i have this order to do i thought i’d use the correct weight yarn and give it another go.

This pattern  does have the bear ears but i prefer it without – I used one ball of James C Brett marble chunky, and a 5mm hook.

I am a little peeved with my backdrop as it’s all creased! It’s not actually a proper one, it’s floor vinyl and i got a HUGE roll of it as i found this more of a cost effective thing to do but tbh i think i will invest in a proper background now as the time is right.

I liked the way this turned out using that yarn. I spent ages picking buttons but i went back to my wooden ones just because i think they go with anything.
The yarn is so snuggly and i think i might nearer winter have to invest in some more of it and make a huge throw!

This week is a lil bit of a meh one for me,  i am trying to stay up beat and positive so i am relaxing. I am having no luck with the yarn i am missing so i am going else where to get two more balls of aran but i am going to crack on with the second ripple blanket i started. It’s neutral, it’s me LOL.

I hope everyone is okay and had a great weekend, one shall catch up with posts tomorrow as i am going to go and practise some calligraphy!

Crochet/Craft catch up & my first moon picture

Howdy people I’ve been reading some of your blogs and it’s nice to see everyone busy with projects. I’ve just finished my last teddy orders, now i am working on the two Blanket orders which need to be done by November BUT this person has also extended there order after seeing me make another mini unicorn and wants two of these as well LOL!
So, i’ve kept my order book closed until the 20th of October, which was something i was going to do so i can get some prep time in for Christmas, which is only fair right?

I also have another order which i have accepeted, but does ‘t need to be done until December but its the same as this mini unicorn but made bigger and personalised.

Horrible weekend.

So i was woken at 6:00AM Sunday by a lady with her two children outside our block screaming help help fire. Sadly, the three story block right next to mine was on fire. Her home set a light by the use of a storage heater, because she lived on the ground floor she managed to get out.
I saw the fire, and this horrible sight of seeing someone pulled out. A guy jumped out of his window and one had to be rescued from this ledge.
The family that i am guessing lived above the lady, has sadly passed away today and i feel completely helpless, her two children are still in hospital critical. I don’t believe in God but i do hope that the baby and kid survive.
I haven’t had much sleep, it’s been playing on my mind alot and i can’t get the images out of my head. I have to wake up and see it out of my window as it was in plain view. I wish i could of helped.

My heart also goes out to those all killed in Las Vegas, i have no words to as why someone would want to such a fucking thing.
This world is bloody horrible at the best of times with all sorts going on with Spain and these god damn storms just ruining peoples lives.

So lets just take a few moments to look at how lucky we were. We might not have much money, or not live in the best of homes. But we have a roof over our head, food to eat and fresh water to drink. And some of us are lucky to have friends and family around us as well.
We are privileged in so many ways, and yet we do take things for granted whether you want to admit that or not.

Back to it

So apart from that, an i aren’t saying sorry for that sad moment. I’ve been a bit grumpy lately. Like i’ve felt extra stressed and cant figure out why – I have even acted shitty with my mum and i shouldn’t because she’s not very well and everytime i am nasty i want to cry because i really don’t mean it. I think its a build up of something idk.

But i have my camera now, just waiting on my back drop stand cause it took me a while to pick one and some lighting so i can film when its darker.
Can’t wait to make videos, it’s easier to explain LOL – I’ve also made a massive list of things to make in the up an coming weeks and what i want to crochet.

Its long………………………………………….Also buying these crochet magazines, anyone else find some of them shit? It’s a hit and miss most months and i end up getting pissed off i just wasted 6.99 on a magazine that has average crap in it. IDK I hate they are in plastic so you can’t even sneaky peak in them.

OH so, this is the picture i took with my camera of the moon 🙂 I still need some practise with the tripod etc but i kind of wanted to hurry as i felt like people in surrounding flats would see this person with her window open and a camera and assume i was a peeping  tom. It’s not bad, i wanted to get closer but it was a cloudy night so i am hoping the weekend will be better as i want to get in on some of those stars!

Hannah @ quietwatercraft has been a doll and made me a custom birthday card for my mums birthday! I love it and she has such a cute eye for detail. We also noted that its such a small world, she used to live locally – how crazy is that?? So i check out her blog and her Etsy shop.

So that’s it i haven’t a lot to say as i am typing this, and scheduling it my hands are frozen as the window is open and i cba get up and close it.

I hope you are all well, and what have your crafty hands been upto????????????????????????

Here is a picture of my cat for comfort. I don’t know why hes cross eyed here???????????????

WIP Wednesday – Catching waves, neat ripple crochet blanket.

Ner ner ner, i accomplished one of my goals!!! I finished my sea wave ripple blanket.
YES! So proud right now but i aren’t proud that since the start of this month ive done nothing but eat shit, drink diet pepsi and just meh whatever though.

So happy 4th of July for yesterday LOL! – I spent ALL day on this thing and I started one of my other goals which was to watch Pretty Little Liars as i had never seen it before, i actually think i started it on Sunday? Whatever. It hit midnight i had like 6 rows to go and i was so drained from working it all day that i left it til today.

Why is it when your so close to the end of something it literally takes forever? Please explain that to me, my wrists were tingly i had crocheted that much. I took toilet breaks quick email check etc but honestly i just busted ass.

I followed the Attic 24 neat ripple pattern for this blanket and it turned out pretty well.
I think during the process i had to frog a few rows as my count was off at the end of the row and i usually found that i would fucked up around about the start of a new row so it was such a pain to frog back all that way. FML – I will say that this blanket wouldn’t be done if it was adult size, this is a baby blanket and measures at 31×35 inches so its a nice size for a baby. I kind of hate thinking of blanket sizes because i don’t come across babies that often LOL so when i first ever met my friends baby, i was like shit they really are SMALL. I don’t know why i thought they were as big as a blanket. Honestly – I think that’s a good reason why i will never be ready for a child hahaha Ill be buying my kid cars before they even know how to tie laces.

I actually really enjoyed doing this blanket. Anything blue i love, because it’s my favourite colour. It relaxes me, i mean just look at those shades i feel so close to the sea which is always such a memorable and relaxing place right?
It makes me want to pack up and live in a little wooden house right on the sand 😦

I usually get really bored of blankets even when it’s a request and i tried to do the ripple way back when i started my blog and i never finished it. In fact whatever i did do got thrown out months ago a long with the colours.

The yarn is used is…… Obviously stylecraft. I always go back to this brand and i think they are spot on with the shades that they have especially the blues. I have a few more colours that i wanted to use as it reminds me of being under water and searching for Atlantis. But i don’t know what ill do yet as i just seem to have yarn just for ‘just incase’ type of moments.

Starting from the white and going to the darkest shade here are the colours i used in stylecraft special DK :
White (1001)
Duck egg (1820)
Storm blue (1722)
Petrol (1708)

I used a 4mm crochet hook and for the border i jut went down the sides of where i started and end rounds and did two TR/DC in each space of where i have row of colours. Meaning i did 6 TR/DC for each set of colour.
I tried to follow the Attic 24 edge pattern i think that’s kind of the start of it but I just did my own thing. I didn’t want anything over the top for a border and i didn’t even do a border on the sides that were wavy.

I can’t say i ever use crazy borders on my projects because i like to keep that aspect of it simple, i see it more of a frame and the blanket is it’s own portrait.

And here is the final picture IMG_20170705_170157_831

So for the rest of today/evening and tomorrow well some of tomorrow i am going to relax, check my bullet journal and it’s to do lists then move on to the next.
(I can now record a video without any issues so Saturday will be bullet journal shit cause you can plan next week with me :D)

That’s it for today. I am catching up on blogs BTW So if i comment or like something from weeks back that’s me catching up LOL!
Hope everyone’s having a good week and if your craft happy what you all been making?

WIP Wednesday – Chenille baby blanket completed

WIPedy do da Wipedy day – Well it’s kind of hard to think that i will be saying goodbye to May. This year is seriously flying by and i don’t like it one bit.

May is always a bleugh month, a bit like a mid week day but not mid in the year. It just leaves me with that bland feeling.
I think mostly because June & July are crazy months, summer time and all that crap. May is a time to really take charge of your year and any changes because if you slacked at the beginning you can use this shitty month to re-evaluate. Which is what i have done!

Anyway, more on that another day – I’ve finished my snuggly chenille baby blanket in mint green, lemon (yellow) & white. I am so in love with this and CANNOT wait to get it up on my store!!
Kind of going to do that within the hour, just need to edit the pictures and tidy them up abit.

I used chenille baby yarn, which wasn’t actually too thick. It kind of required a 6.5mm crochet hook but i used 5mm. For some reason i kind of thought that was the right size, it didn’t really make a difference but ideally when using this kind of yarn it’s best to use to size hook asked for or if possibly a little bigger.
It’s quite sensitive and can break very easily, which can be very annoying. I have worked with this type of yarn before so i was able to not do that with a smaller hook and my tension was not too tight, i count myself lucky.

For this i did the V-Stitch which is work in multiples, Dc ch1 Dc in the same stitch (U.S terms)  I actually didn’t ch1 and worked two DC’s to give this a better look.
I’ve always done this, but it seems to be a known thing by a popular crocheter so i aren’t claiming anything as my idea i just want to put it out that I’ve known this tip for a long time.

After finishing i measure and it’s around 28×32 which is a nice size for a baby blanket. It’s not too heavy which i found with Bernat baby/Bernat blanket. I think because Bernat is ALOT thicker but it also has a different texture. This yarn is more softer and feels like velvet.

So that’s it, i have some other things to crack on with this week and i am feeling very positive.
I’ve also taken another healthy turn and started to combine fruits in my water. I think they are called water cleanses? Today (all day) I drank lemon, lime & cucumber.

Happy WIP wedneaday!!! #Crochetforyourlife
